You seem pretty interested in what we do…
Ask me anything — branding, websites, marketing. I answer in seconds.

The SEO cost per month in India runs roughly ₹10,000 to ₹30,000 for local SEO, ₹30,000 to ₹1,00,000 for national SEO, and ₹75,000 or more for a large e-commerce catalogue. The spread comes from scope - how many pages, how competitive the keywords, how much content and technical work - not from how fancy the agency's office is. These are indicative market ranges, not a price list: we have not measured them across a dataset, so use them to sanity-check a quote, not to replace one.
TL;DR: Local SEO is a modest monthly line item. National and e-commerce SEO are real budgets. Anything under about ₹8,000 a month is usually reporting plus a few directory listings. Nobody can honestly guarantee rankings, and results take months, not weeks, to show up in enquiries.
An SEO retainer buys hours of skilled work spread across four jobs.
Four things move the price. Competition for your keywords, the size of your site, how much content is written per month, and whether the person doing the work is a senior specialist or a junior following a checklist.
Treat these as ballparks for a retainer, in rupees per month.

One-off audits and project work (a site migration, a full content rebuild) are priced separately from the retainer. If a quote blurs the two, ask for them split.
A useful quote names deliverables you can count. Look for a first-month audit, a keyword plan tied to what you sell, a monthly number of pages written or improved, a monthly number of outreach efforts, and a report you can read without a glossary.
Padding looks like this: "100+ directory submissions", "social bookmarking", and vague phrases such as "off-page activity". Those are cheap to deliver and do little. A quote that lists activities but no outputs is asking you to pay for effort, not progress.
Also check who owns the work. Content, accounts and tracking should be in your name, so you can leave without losing them.
Google's SEO Starter Guide says some changes take effect within hours while others take several months, and suggests allowing a few weeks before judging a change (SEO Starter Guide). Our working expectation for a new or lightly optimised site is three to six months before enquiries move, and longer for competitive national keywords. Month one is mostly fixing. Months two and three are content getting indexed. Rankings and enquiries follow. If an agency promises results in thirty days, ask what changed in that time that could not have been done by editing your own pages.
This is why SEO suits a business that can wait. If you need leads this month, paid campaigns do that job, and SEO is the slower investment that compounds alongside them.
Be honest about your stage. Google itself notes that small local businesses can often do much of the work themselves. A new business with a five-page site and a tight budget often gets more from the basics than from a ₹10,000 retainer: set up a Google Business Profile, ask happy customers for reviews, make sure each service has its own page that answers a real question, and connect Search Console. That costs time, not rupees.
Hire when the basics are done and you are limited by time or skill, not knowledge. The best moment to bring someone in is before a redesign or launch, not after: Google flags a new site or redesign as a good time to involve an SEO, because fixing structure on paper is cheaper than fixing it live.
If you are also wondering how AI search answers change the picture, we covered that in our guide to generative engine optimization for small business. If you want SEO scoped alongside the site, content and ads it depends on, that is the end-to-end work ZingBizz does, and you can ask us for a scoped quote.
For a single-location business, roughly ₹10,000 to ₹30,000 a month is a realistic range. Below that you are mostly paying for reporting and listings.
At that price you usually get basic on-page edits, a few listings and a report. That can suit a very small local business, but it will not move a competitive keyword.
Not automatically. A higher price should mean more senior time and more output you can count. Ask for deliverables, not adjectives.
Google says some changes take effect in hours and others take months. Expect three to six months before enquiries rise for a new or lightly optimised site.
No. A three to six month commitment is fair for both sides, and an agency confident in its work does not need twelve months of lock-in.
